WINSLOW Judo Club founder and senior coach Malcolm
McPartlan took his final session on December 15 after 14 years at the helm.
The club marked the event by holding a fun
training session for all members and a special presentation was made in
recognition of his efforts.
Club chairman David Bartlett thanked him for
all he had done over the years, saying that "without him there would have been
no judo club".
It was thanks to Mr McPartlan's efforts, he said, that
there was a thriving club today with over 60 active members.
Malcolm
McPartlan said he felt the time was right to "put his feet up", particularly
given the healthy state that the club was now in with a number of other
qualified coaches available to run it and take it forward.
He said it
would not have been possible to have given all his Saturdays over the years to
judo without the support of his family and particularly his wife, Veronica.
He was looking forward to reading about the continued success of the
club in The Advertiser & Review. The club's usual Saturday sessions
recommence on Saturday, January 5 at the Winslow
Centre.
